<p>Within the following ZenCart examples we&#8217;ll be describing product Attribute levels and how best to manage them.<br />
We will start from the basics and build upon these.</p>
<p><span id="more-106"></span>The product examples we are going to work with are Clothing (something we should all be wearing <img src='http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Category: Clothing<br />
Sub Category: Jeans<br />
Product A1: Jeans Blue Small &#8211; Stock: 10<br />
Product A2: Jeans Blue Medium &#8211; Stock: 8<br />
Product A3: Jeans Blue Larger &#8211; Stock: 5</p>
<h3>Single Products with single Stock level<br />
================</h3>
<p>If your store is holding single products then out of the box ZenCart very much catters for your requirements</p>
<p>Within ZenCart Category/products each product will be added individually and within a products details you can simple enter and manage the STOCK quantity</p>
<p><strong>Advantages:<br />
- Simple to manage<br />
- Full description of each individual product can be added<br />
- Stock levels are managed for that product</strong></p>
<p><strong>Disadvantages<br />
- Multiple entries for the same product to cater for each attribute<br />
- Each product needs to be edited to enable a stock quantity change</strong></p>
<p><strong>JSWeb SUGGESTION</strong>: Installation of the &#8220;admin_product_quantity_changer module&#8221;</p>
<p>This module enhances your Zen Cart admin allowing you to make product quantity changes WITHOUT having to edit each and every product individually. This is a much faster approach to keeping your product stock up to date</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-109" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/admin_product_quantity_changer/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-109" title="admin_product_quantity_changer" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/admin_product_quantity_changer.jpg" alt="" width="601" height="207" /></a></p>
<p>This is how your ZenCart Store side would generally look like:</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-114" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/standard_product_layout1/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-114" title="standard_product_layout1" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/standard_product_layout1.jpg" alt="" width="436" height="554" /></a></p>
<h3>Products with Attributes (multiple stock) levels<br />
======================================</h3>
<p>Rather than adding each product indivudally with their own stock level, a more streamline way (for you as store owner and your customers who are looking for products) is to have just one main product and within that product provide attribute selection. Here is an example:</p>
<p>Category: Clothing<br />
Sub Category: Jeans Blue<br />
Product A1: Jeans<br />
Attribute: Size: Small &#8211; Stock: 10<br />
Attribute: Size: Medium &#8211; Stock: 8<br />
Attribute: Size: Large &#8211; Stock: 5<br />
Total Stock: 23</p>
<p>Note: A great explanations of how to add product attributes is available on the www.zen-cart.com website within [Tutorials/FAQ).</p>
<p>On your store front end this would look at follows:</p>
<p>Product listing page:</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-115" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/attribute_product_layout2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-115" title="attribute_product_layout2" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/attribute_product_layout2.jpg" alt="" width="144" height="267" /></a></p>
<p>Product Details page:</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-116" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/attribute_product_layout3/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-116" title="attribute_product_layout3" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/attribute_product_layout3.jpg" alt="" width="585" height="349" /></a></p>
<p>The next question is how best to manage the STOCK QUANTITIES of each of these attributes?</p>
<p><strong>JSWEB SUGGESTION</strong>: Installation of the &#8220;Stock by Attributes&#8221; module.<br />
===========</p>
<p>This add-on allows a store owner to set a stock value for each variant of a product. Let&#8217;s see this in action:</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-117" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/stockwithattributes_screen1/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-117" title="stockwithattributes_screen1" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/stockwithattributes_screen1.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="143" /></a><br />
<a rel="attachment wp-att-118" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/stockwithattributes_screen2/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-118" title="stockwithattributes_screen2" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/stockwithattributes_screen2.jpg" alt="" width="451" height="228" /></a></p>
<p>The result is your product and its attributes stock level being up to date. Now that is quick and easy!</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-119" href="http://www.yourzencart.com/zencart/manage-stock-in-zen-cart/attachment/stockwithattributes_screen3/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-119" title="stockwithattributes_screen3" src="http://www.yourzencart.com/wp-content/uploads/stockwithattributes_screen3.jpg" alt="" width="583" height="94" /></a></p>
<p><strong>If this is of interest to you then you can order this module at</strong> <a href="http://www.jsweb.co.uk/stock-by-attributes-p-279.html" target="_blank">http://www.jsweb.co.uk/stock-by-attributes-p-279.html</a></p>
<h3>Want more?<br />
How about using attributes to build your product prices?<br />
=============================================</h3>
<p>This new Dynamic Attribute Pricing module will allow you to dynamically show prices of your products based on attributes selections! This will keep your customer informed before they hit the ADD TO CART button</p>
<p>Read more about this module at <a href="http://www.jsweb.co.uk/dynamic-attribute-pricing-p-367.html" target="_blank">http://www.jsweb.co.uk/dynamic-attribute-pricing-p-367.html</a></p>

Here at JSWeb we like to think outside of the box. We like to create and develop new and exiting products for our customers and to enhance their eCommerce website.</p>
<p><strong>So, What is AJAX?</strong></p>
<p>Ajax (shorthand for asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is a group of interrelated web development techniques used on the client-side to create interactive web applications. With Ajax, web applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behaviour of the existing page. &#8211; Wikipedia Source</p>
